Surface Equipment Corporation offers Internally Fired Heat Treating. Post weld heat treatment is the process of heating a vessel to a specified temperature to relieve the residual stresses resulting from mechanical forming and welding. The process is done by heating a vessel to a predetermined temperature for a length of time by the ASME code Section 8. This length of time will vary depending on the thickness and type of the material. The result of stress reliving will minimize, if not eliminate the formation of stress cracks during the life of the pressure vessel. This process is done once all fabrication is done.
