Vertical separators are ideally suited to wellstreams characterized by surging liquids and low-tointermediate gas-oil ratios. They are also well suited for extracting excessive sand and other sedimentation from the production by means of a cone placed in the bottom of the separator. Vertical separators occupy less floor space than the horizontal separators. This factor benefits when lease areas are small or equipment is set on offshore platforms. Some of the features of the vertical separator are listed below:
(1) A centrifugal inlet device where the primary separation of the liquid and gas is made.
(2) Sufficient height to allow liquids to settle out of the gas stream.
(3) Downcomers to receive the inlet fluid and direct into the water section below the interface rag.
(4) Adequate room for surging liquids to be handled.
(5) A mist extractor or stainless steel vane eliminator near the gas outlet that will coalesce small particles of liquid that will not settle out by gravity.
Our vertical separators can be totally trimmed and interconnect piped with all necessary controls and accessories such as level controls, liquid dump valves, gas back-pressure valve, safety relief valve, pressure gauge, level gauge, instrument gas regulator and all necessary piping.
Every separator will be designed and sized for your production specification so that good and complete liquid-gas separation will be accomplished.
