Sand separators are used to remove solids, such as sand or silt, from the well stream. Surface Equipment uses an inlet diverter to slow the well stream and gravity causes the sand to fall to the bottom of the vessel. Sand separators are custom built and are fabricated with either a “L" shaped skid and/or are trailer mounted.
